Tinubu to Open National Security Conference Amidst Rising Banditry and Kidnapping Threats

President Bola Tinubu is set to declare the National Security Conference open in Abuja on Tuesday.

Spokesperson for Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS, World Muslim League, Garbadeen Mohammad, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to him, the event will deliberate on challenges such as banditry, kidnapping and related issues which currently constitute threats to national security.

Similarly, the Nigerian government-backed initiative will also deliberate on issues of religious unity in the country.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, will be among the leaders attending the security conference.

“The conference will also include global collaboration roundtables aimed at advancing sustainable socio-economic development.

“The gathering would provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas and strengthen partnerships towards achieving peace, stability and sustainable development in Nigeria,” the statement read.
