_ Support Group Highlights Mbah Administration’s Development Projects, Sensitizes Traders Ahead of 2027 Elections_

The PVC Mobilization and Voter Sensitization Support Group for Peter Mbah’s 2027 Re-election has taken its grassroots voter sensitization and political outreach campaign to traders at Orie Awgu and Orie Agbogugu markets in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The engagement formed part of the group’s wider grassroots activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with particular emphasis on voter awareness, PVC-related information and the political programmes and achievements of the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

During the outreach, members of the support group interacted with traders across the two markets, educating them on the importance of participating in the electoral process and encouraging eligible voters to ensure that their voter information is properly verified and that they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in accordance with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s procedures.

A major focus of the engagement was also the presentation of the development record of the Mbah administration to the traders. According to figures published by the Enugu State Government, the administration has recorded projects and interventions in areas including road infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, transportation and agriculture.

The Enugu State Government reported in September 2026 that its administration had recorded more than 10,000 milestones, including over 1,521 kilometres of constructed and reconstructed roads, more than 7,000 classrooms and 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, alongside projects such as Enugu Air and the New Enugu Smart City. The administration has also highlighted the development of 260 Smart Green Schools and 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state’s wards, as well as investments in transport infrastructure, agriculture and security. (enugustate.gov.ng)

The support group presented these projects and other government programmes as part of the basis for its campaign for the continuation of the Mbah administration beyond 2027.

The group also used the market engagements to discuss the role of citizens in the democratic process, emphasizing voter participation and the need for eligible citizens to remain informed about electoral procedures ahead of the 2027 elections.

The initiative is coordinated by President Chukwuebuka Arinze Okeke (Shanpa), Deputy President Tochukwu Ebiem (Amuma N’Egbeigwe) and Secretary, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu (UgamaTV), who are listed as the conveners of the support group.

The Orie Awgu and Orie Agbogugu engagements are part of the support group’s broader grassroots programme across Awgu communities, aimed at voter sensitization, political awareness and mobilization around Governor Peter Mbah’s 2027 re-election campaign.

As preparations for the 2027 elections intensify, the group said it would sustain its grassroots engagement across the state, reaching out to communities, traders and other stakeholders through continued voter sensitization, political awareness and mobilisation activities.
