The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has visited a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) facility in Abuja to sign the condolence register for victims of the recent aircraft crash in Ondo State.
Obi disclosed this in a statement on his X handle, where he expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of those who lost their loved ones in the incident.
He said the visit gave him another opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made daily by personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.
Obi described the servicemen and women who risk their lives to defend the country and protect citizens as courageous Nigerians whose service and sacrifices should not be taken for granted.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of those who lost their lives,” he said.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for their families to bear the loss.
“May God continue to protect all those who serve our country,” Obi added.
