The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State, Ocho Obodoeze, has led a high-powered delegation of party leaders and stakeholders on a courtesy visit to the Incoming Vice President of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, combining a heartfelt condolence message over the death of his mother with strategic political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The delegation paid the visit to commiserate with Rt. Hon. Amaechi and his family over the passing of his beloved mother, Late Mrs. Mary Orduah, while also using the opportunity to strengthen relationships and build strategic national alliances in line with the ADC’s broader political objectives ahead of 2027.

During the visit, Obodoeze and members of the delegation expressed their deepest sympathy to Amaechi, praying for God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss and for the peaceful repose of the soul of their departed matriarch.

The visit also provided an avenue for political dialogue and engagement, as the Enugu State ADC delegation emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, strategic partnerships and stronger national relationships in preparation for the 2027 elections.

The engagement underscores the ADC’s determination to build a formidable national political structure through meaningful consultations and alliances with key political stakeholders across the country.

The delegation comprised prominent leaders of the ADC in Enugu State, including Comr. AC Ude, State Secretary, ADC Enugu State; Queen Lolo Ngozi Nwankwo, Organizing Secretary, ADC Enugu State; Prince Achalabagu, Zonal Vice Chairman, Enugu North Senatorial Zone; Chief Okey Okagu, Administrative Secretary, ADC Enugu State; Hon. Arinze Ezeh; and Chief Okwudiri Wankwo.

The condolence visit comes ahead of the burial ceremonies for Late Mrs. Mary Orduah, which have been scheduled for September 4 and 5, 2026.

According to the burial arrangements, the Service of Songs will hold on Friday, September 4, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Aba Road, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 p.m.

The funeral rites will continue on Saturday, September 5, with the Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ubima, by 10:00 a.m. Light refreshments will follow immediately after the Mass at the Church Open Field, Ubima.

The visit by Ocho Obodoeze and the Enugu ADC delegation therefore carried both a message of human solidarity in a moment of grief and a strong political statement of engagement and partnership as Nigeria gradually moves towards another major electoral cycle.

For Obodoeze and the Enugu State ADC, the engagement represents a continued commitment to building bridges, strengthening national connections and ensuring that the state remains an active participant in the wider political conversations shaping the country’s future ahead of 2027.

The delegation wished Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and the entire family of Late Mrs. Mary Orduah peace, comfort and divine strength as they prepare to give their mother a befitting final farewell.
