Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has been appointed the Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the South-East in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
The appointment was contained in the full membership list of the council released on Saturday, August 22, 2026, by the Presidency through the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will chair the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen I and II respectively.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary. Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru was appointed Deputy Secretary, with Hadiza Bala Usman as Assistant Secretary.
Mbah’s appointment places him at the helm of the APC’s presidential campaign coordination across the five South-East states.
Other zonal coordinators appointed by the party include Senator Bassey Otu for the South-South, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the South-West, Niger State Governor Umar Bago for the North-Central, Senator Modu Sheriff for the North-East and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for the North-West.
The campaign council comprises members drawn from various directorates and is expected to coordinate the APC’s mobilisation efforts, promote the administration’s achievements and strengthen the party’s support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The release of the council’s full membership marks a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 polls.
