Residents of Mada Station in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have expressed fears over rising cases of kidnapping, calling on the government and security agencies to intervene urgently.
A resident, Micah Kuje, raised the alarm in a Facebook post on Thursday, disclosing that two people were abducted in Angwan Mission earlier in the week.
He also reported that a secondary school teacher, identified as Mr Solomon Musa Ogah, was kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday.
According to Kuje, all three victims were still in captivity as of the time he made the post.
He appealed to the Nasarawa State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle the rising insecurity and secure the release of the victims.
Kuje specifically called on the lawmaker representing Nasarawa Eggon West Constituency, Abel Yakubu Bala; the Nasarawa State Police Command; and the chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area to take urgent action to protect residents.
“The people of Mada Station are no longer safe. We are living in fear and we need urgent security intervention,” he said.
The resident also expressed hope that the abducted victims would be released safely and without further delay.
