Enugu Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication Reaffirms Support for Tinubu, Mbah and APC Candidates

The Enugu State Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, Prof. Benedette Ekwutosi Okoli, has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for what she described as an impactful leadership style and sustained commitment to improving the lives of residents across Enugu State.

Prof. Okoli made the remarks during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in Mmaku-Agbor Autonomous Community, Awgu Local Government Area, where she reaffirmed her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Mbah and the APC ahead of the September 26, 2026 local government elections.

The Commissioner spoke as the APC campaign team, led by the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, visited the community as part of its grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the polls.

“THE PEOPLE OF MMAKU HAVE SPOKEN”

Prof. Okoli said the large turnout of residents, particularly women and men who gathered to receive the APC campaign team, represented what she described as a clear demonstration of the party’s growing acceptance in Mmaku.

According to her, the gathering reflected the confidence of residents in the leadership of Governor Mbah and the APC, particularly in view of the various projects, programmes and government interventions being implemented across the state.

She maintained that the people of Mmaku had demonstrated their political position by coming out in large numbers to identify with the APC and its candidates.

The Commissioner said the strong participation of women and men was an indication that the APC was building significant grassroots support in the community.

She added that the people were prepared to stand with the party during the forthcoming local government elections.

OKOLI REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR TINUBU AND MBAH

The Commissioner also reaffirmed her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing the APC as an important political platform through which supporters could continue to identify with the development agendas of the federal and state governments.

Prof. Okoli said the gathering in Mmaku should not be viewed merely as a political event, but as an expression of the community’s decision to align itself with the APC.

She expressed confidence in the strength of the party at the grassroots in Awgu, noting that its support base was expanding across communities.

She therefore urged APC members and supporters to remain united, organised and committed as the September 26 election approaches.

CALL FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR MBAH’S ADMINISTRATION

Prof. Okoli further called on the people of Mmaku and other communities to continue supporting the administration of Governor Mbah.

She stressed that sustained cooperation between government and citizens was necessary for the effective implementation of development programmes and initiatives designed to improve the wellbeing of residents.

The Commissioner maintained that the benefits of government policies and programmes could be maximised when communities actively participated and cooperated with the government.

“MMAKU IS FIRMLY BEHIND APC”

Reiterating her position, Prof. Okoli declared that Mmaku was firmly behind the APC and its leadership, describing the community’s support for the party as unwavering ahead of the September 26 local government elections.

Her declaration adds to the growing series of support messages recorded during the APC’s ongoing grassroots campaign across Awgu Local Government Area.

The campaign has continued to focus on direct engagement with communities, political mobilisation and the presentation of the party’s candidates to voters ahead of the polls.

With political activities gathering momentum across Awgu, the APC is expected to sustain its community-to-community campaign as the September 26 local government elections draw closer.
