The Dynamic Women for Good Leadership Initiative has concluded its 2026 Dynamic Power Blueprint Conference with the official endorsement of the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for a second term in office.
The conference, themed “Building Capacity for Sustainable Impact,” was held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, Enugu. The event was designed to equip women with the knowledge, skills, confidence and opportunities needed to become effective leaders, successful home managers and agents of lasting transformation in society.
The conference attracted women from the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State, alongside distinguished guests, government officials and resource persons.
The event commenced with worship and opening prayers led by representatives from the various local government areas, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and unity. This was followed by the traditional breaking of kola nut and the recognition of dignitaries.
Among those in attendance were the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Economy, Dr. Patrick Nwabueze Ubru; the Enugu State APC Chairman, Dr. Martins Chukwunweike, represented by the Deputy Chairman, Ambassador Princess Peace Patrick Nnamani. The leader of the Hausa community in Enugu State, HRH Sarki Abubakar Yusuf Sambo, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, amidst several other notable personalities.
The event also featured colourful cultural dance performances by participants from different local government areas, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state and providing moments of relaxation and entertainment.
Awards of Honour for exemplary leadership and philanthropy were presented to several distinguished personalities, including Prince Afam (Ike Olo), Dr. Hillary Nwokeabia, HRH Sarki Abubakar Yusuf Sambo, the Divisional Police Officer of the Independent Layout Police Division, Nze Theo Onyemaeke, and Mrs. Chika Ezeanyanaso, CE Daniel Isei, a Commandant of EFCC, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the society.
The highlight of the conference was the official endorsement of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for a second tenure by members of the Dynamic Women for Good Leadership Initiative.
The organisation cited the governor’s commitment to economic growth, infrastructural development and the overall transformation of Enugu State as the basis for its decision.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Mbah, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Economy, Dr. Patrick Nwabueze Ubru, congratulated the women for organising the conference and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting women-focused programmes and initiatives aimed at enhancing their participation in development.
Also addressing the gathering, the representative of the Enugu State APC Chairman, Ambassador Princess Peace Patrick Nnamani, commended the organisation for its efforts in empowering women and urged members to remain united and committed to the continued growth of the initiative.
In her keynote address, the Convener of the Dynamic Women for Good Leadership Initiative, Hon. Mrs. Rita Chimobi Ihemeje, described the organisation as a non-partisan platform dedicated to empowering women and supporting good governance.
She explained that the organisation, established in 2018, has empowered more than three thousand women through interest-free loans, free medical outreach programmes, mentorship, political education and vocational empowerment initiatives.
According to her, the organisation also played a significant role in encouraging women across Enugu State to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the democratic process.
Hon. Ihemeje stated that the vision of the organisation is to build an Enugu State where women are empowered to contribute meaningfully as mothers, professionals, policymakers and stakeholders in governance.
She added that its mission is to identify, mobilise and support credible individuals, government agencies and corporate organisations committed to the development of the state.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, she identified spiritual development, parental training, mentorship and personal development as the four key pillars for building capacity for sustainable impact.
She encouraged women to invest in continuous self-development, financial independence and personal well-being while remaining committed to supporting one another.
In an interview with UGAMATV, Hon. Rita Chimobi Ihemeje further highlighted the activities and achievements of the organisation over the past eight years. She reaffirmed its commitment to expanding empowerment programmes for women through donations, financial assistance and capacity-building initiatives, while encouraging women across Enugu State to remain focused, resilient and committed to becoming positive agents of change in their homes, communities and the wider society.
The 2026 Dynamic Power Blueprint Conference ended on a high note with renewed calls for greater investment in women’s development, stronger collaboration with government and stakeholders, and sustained support for good governance.
Participants expressed confidence that empowering women remains a vital pathway to sustainable development, social progress, and the continued transformation of Enugu State.
