Afrobeats superstar Davido thrilled supporters at a campaign rally in Osun State as he joined his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the build-up to the August 15 governorship election.
Davido, who arrived in the state on Thursday to support the governor’s re-election bid, made a grand entrance alongside the governor’s son, Sina Adeleke, popularly known as Shina Rambo. The duo navigated through a large crowd before climbing over a barricade with the assistance of supporters to reach the campaign stage.
On stage, Davido embraced Governor Adeleke before the governor broke into dance to the singer’s hit song, Feel, from his Timeless album. Davido soon joined him, drawing loud cheers from the enthusiastic crowd as the performance became one of the rally’s biggest highlights.
The award-winning singer has remained a visible figure in his uncle’s re-election campaign. In May, he announced plans to suspend music activities for two months to concentrate on the campaign and was subsequently appointed chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team.
Since then, Davido has participated in several grassroots mobilisation efforts across Osun State, including engagements with commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators, urging young people to vote.
Governor Adeleke, elected in 2022, is seeking a second term in the August 15 governorship election, with Davido’s campaign appearances continuing to attract significant support, particularly among young voters.
