The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of paralyzing the local government system in the state.
Alli made the allegation in a statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of his campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele.
The APC candidate claimed that Makinde lacked confidence in the local government system, which he said had affected its effectiveness in the state.
Alli alleged that the administration’s handling of local governments was one of what he described as its major shortcomings.
“Nigerians are not naive to surrender the presidency to a man notorious for paralyzing local governments, which are effective channels of grassroots development,” he said.
He further alleged that Makinde was opposed to the third tier of government, describing his administration in Oyo State as an “anti-local government administration.”
Alli currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
