The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has chosen the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Major Jack, as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Ikenga Chibike, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
Jack will serve as running mate to the APC governorship candidate, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, who emerged from the party’s governorship primary in May 2026.
The choice of Jack is reportedly aimed at achieving geographical balance on the ticket and strengthening the APC’s grassroots presence, particularly in riverine communities.
Jack joined the APC in December 2025 alongside the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and other lawmakers.
