The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, has reaffirmed his position on fuel subsidy, insisting that he remains committed to restoring the policy if elected president.
Atiku spoke on Tuesday when he received the Osun State leadership of the ADC in Abuja.
The former Vice President also distanced himself from comments attributed to one of his media aides, Paul Ibe, during an interview on AIT, saying Ibe was not speaking on his authority.
Atiku’s position comes amid continued debate over fuel pricing, subsidy removal and the economic impact of the Federal Government’s petroleum sector reforms.
He maintained that his stance on the subsidy issue had not changed, signalling that the policy would form part of his economic agenda ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
