Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Nathan Angwe as Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government Affairs.

Angwe, who hails from Mbayange, Mbaakpough, Mbayion in Gboko Local Government Area, replaces Ioryue Yajir, who previously held the position.

A retired staff member of the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Makurdi, Angwe served as a Local Government Inspector across several local government areas in the state before retiring as a Principal Local Government Inspector.

Governor Alia also approved the appointment of Benjamin Aondonenge Ikyereve as the new Gubernatorial Liaison Officer for Tarka Local Government Area.

Ikyereve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and previously served as Secretary to the Tarka Local Government Council.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia congratulated the two appointees, saying their appointments reflected their experience and competence in public administration.

The governor charged them with strengthening coordination between his office and local government councils, ensuring effective implementation of government policies at the grassroots and providing strategic advice on issues affecting their communities.

Alia expressed confidence that their experience in local government administration would contribute to improving governance and strengthening the relationship between the state government and councils across the state.
