The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has revealed how he allegedly saved former President Olusegun Obasanjo from an injection he claimed could have killed him while they were both in prison.
Atiku made the disclosure during an interview with newsmen, where he alleged that he leaked information about an impending injection allegedly planned for Obasanjo.
According to him, a similar incident had occurred involving the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua. He said that after learning about the alleged plan, he warned Obasanjo not to accept the injection.
“I saved Obasanjo’s life in prison by leaking information about an impending injection that could have killed him,” Atiku said.
He added that the same thing was allegedly done to Yar’Adua, saying he warned him after learning of the plan.
Atiku further claimed that despite his role in protecting Obasanjo, the former president later turned against him because he opposed Obasanjo’s bid for a third term in office.
Atiku served as Vice President under Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
