Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at music promoter and Iyabo Ojo’s partner, Paulo Okoye, following comments made by the businessman about the Nigerian music industry.

Paulo had questioned the current state of Afrobeats while lamenting the high fees charged by some of Nigeria’s top music artistes.

His comments drew a response from Nigerian music executive and Grammy-nominated artiste, Bankulli, who criticised Paulo’s position and suggested that his remarks were influenced by his inability to afford the services of top artistes.

Davido appeared to support Bankulli’s reaction, taking to the comment section of the post to describe Paulo as “broke.”

Davido wrote: “PAUL O AKA PAUL BROKE.”

The exchange has since generated reactions among fans and followers of the artistes and music executives involved.

The development comes nearly two years after Paulo publicly defended Davido following criticism of the singer’s earlier comment that Nigeria’s economy was “in shambles.”

Paulo’s relationship with actress Iyabo Ojo became public in 2022, with the actress confirming their romance during her 45th birthday celebration in December of that year.
