Nigerian singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, has opened up about a humiliating experience he had with the now-defunct music duo P-Square while he was still an upcoming artiste.

Speaking in a recent podcast interview, Flavour recounted how he was performing at a club when P-Square arrived. According to him, the venue’s manager immediately asked him to leave the stage to make way for the duo.

He said he turned off his microphone and quietly left the stage as the audience erupted in excitement when Paul Okoye began performing the group’s hit song, Temptation.

Reflecting on the moment, Flavour admitted he wondered why the crowd reacted so differently, despite believing they were all making the same kind of music.

“I was performing one time when P-Square came in, and the manager told me to leave the stage immediately. I switched off my mic and went to sit down. Ladies were screaming and cheering wildly the moment Paul of P-Square took the mic and began singing Temptation. I was wondering whether it is not the same music we are all doing.”

Rather than allowing the incident to discourage him, Flavour said he used the experience as motivation to improve himself, work harder, and remain consistent in pursuing his music career.

He added that the setback ultimately inspired him to keep pushing until he achieved success in the industry.
