Abdul-Aziz Maituraka, Special Adviser to Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Grassroots Mobilisation, has accused opposition politicians of politicising insecurity in the state.
Maituraka made the allegation on Sunday while representing former Governor Aminu Masari at an event attended by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina.
He acknowledged that some communities in a few local government areas continued to experience attacks but argued that the incidents did not amount to a total breakdown of law and order.
The governor’s aide challenged opposition politicians to explain the support they had provided to victims of insecurity in their respective local government areas.
Maituraka maintained that security interventions by the federal and state governments over the past three years had improved peace and stability in Katsina.
He also expressed confidence that the APC would win the 2027 general elections, urging residents not to be misled by opposition parties’ criticism of the government’s handling of insecurity and other challenges.
“I am optimistic that the APC will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections. The people should not be deceived by opposition parties that continually accuse the APC-led government of insecurity and other challenges,” he said.
