Reacting to the development, Chairman Okolo expressed appreciation to Governor Mbah for what he described as recognition of the capacity and contributions of Awgu indigenes to the development of Enugu State.

He said the appointments were a demonstration of the Governor’s confidence in the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through diligence, humility, loyalty and effective service to the people.

The Chairman also commended Governor Mbah’s administration for what he described as its extensive infrastructure and development initiatives across Enugu State.

According to Okolo, the administration’s projects and programmes across various sectors would remain important points of reference as the people assess the performance of the government.

The Enugu State Government has itself reported more than 10,000 milestones under the Mbah administration, including over 1,521 kilometres of constructed and reconstructed roads, more than 7,000 classrooms and 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, among other projects and reforms. Okolo congratulated the seven Awgu indigenes on their respective appointments and charged them to see their new responsibilities as opportunities to serve rather than privileges to be enjoyed.

He urged them to remain good ambassadors of Awgu Local Government Area, maintain high standards of character and professionalism, and contribute meaningfully to the success of the state government.

The Chairman further advised the appointees to remain loyal to the administration, work diligently and emulate what he described as the Governor’s commitment to the development of Enugu State.

He assured them of his support and goodwill as they commence their respective assignments, while wishing them success in their new offices.

Okolo concluded by urging the appointees to place the overall interest of Enugu State and the welfare of its people above personal considerations, stressing the importance of responsible leadership, unity and service in their new positions.
