Anambra Central Senator, Victor Umeh, has said the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has fielded candidates for all elective positions across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Umeh made the statement on Friday while appearing on Arise Television’s Morning Show, stressing that having candidates across constituencies would strengthen the party’s presence at polling units.
According to him, candidates would help the party mobilise agents and ensure effective monitoring and protection of votes during the election.
“Today, the NDC has been able to field candidates for all the positions that are being contested in the 2027 general elections,” Umeh said.
He added that the party had commenced preparations to protect its votes at polling units nationwide.
Umeh disclosed that the NDC’s structure includes 13-member Polling Booth Executive teams at every polling unit, describing the arrangement as part of the party’s constitution.
He said the party was already building the structure across the country to ensure it had representatives and polling agents at every polling unit during the 2027 elections.
