The founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has warned internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, against bringing proceeds from their illegal activities into his church as offerings.
Ibiyeomie issued the warning during a church service while condemning internet fraud and questioning why some people involved in the practice still actively participate in church activities.
The pastor said some Yahoo boys have no remorse about defrauding others and are comfortable worshipping in church with money obtained through fraudulent means.
“Yahoo is stealing. Is it your money? I don’t care how you paint it, Yahoo is stealing,” Ibiyeomie said.
He specifically told fraudsters attending his church to take their offerings elsewhere, stressing that the church does not need money obtained through internet fraud.
“In this church, if you’re a Yahoo, you will go to another church and give your offering. I don’t care how much you have,” he said.
Ibiyeomie also recounted the case of a professor at Rivers State University who he said lost his savings to fraudsters and subsequently collapsed and died.
He urged people to distance themselves from internet fraudsters, questioning why anyone would continue to support a practice that has allegedly caused serious harm to its victims.
