Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has indicated that Toni Payne could replace suspended midfielder Jennifer Echegini in Nigeria’s final Group C match against Egypt at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Nigeria will be without Echegini after she accumulated two yellow cards during the group stage. Defender Oluwatosin Demehin will also miss the match following her red card in the team’s previous game against Zambia.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Madugu expressed confidence in the depth of his squad, stating that every player is capable of stepping in when called upon.

He noted that Toni Payne is available for selection and could feature in the team, considering the absence of some key players.

The Super Falcons will be aiming for victory against Egypt to strengthen their chances of securing a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
