Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, has accused NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi of suffering from “unfathomable delusion” over his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election.

Ajayi argued that Obi’s continued insistence that he won the election, despite coming third according to results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was difficult to explain.

Obi had recently acknowledged that there was no evidence to support his claim that he won the 2023 election.

However, during an interview with BBC Africa while discussing his allegation that the election was rigged, Obi maintained that he won the poll.

Reacting in a post on X, Ajayi wrote: “The unfathomable delusion that makes a man who came 3rd in an election to keep insisting he won almost 4 years after certainly can’t be explained.”

He added: “The same man has now turned around to say he has no evidence to prove his claim, yet he still maintained his position that he won.”
