President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of two service chiefs by 18 months.

Those affected are Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service and Kemi Nanna Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The approval was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Nwakuche will now stay in office till May 26, 2028, while Nandap’s tenure will end on June 30, 2028.

Onanuga said the extension followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The President commended both officers for the reforms recorded under their leadership and asked them to build on the gains.

UGAMATV recalls that Tinubu appointed Nwakuche as CG of the Correctional Service in December 2024 and the Senate confirmed him in March 2025.

Similarly, Kemi Nanna Nandap was nominated as Comptroller-General of Immigration on February 21, 2024, and her appointment was confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 2024.
