President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Major-General Paul Chabri Tarfa (rtd), on his 85th birthday, describing him as a distinguished soldier, patriot and elder statesman.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the President praised Tarfa for his decades of dedicated service to Nigeria, highlighting his commitment to national unity, peace and development throughout his military career and in retirement.

Tinubu commended the retired Major-General for his leadership as Chairman of the NEDC, noting that he has continued to play a vital role in the reconstruction, rehabilitation and sustainable development of communities affected by insurgency in the North-East.

The President also lauded Tarfa’s calm disposition, sound judgment and selfless service, describing him as a respected national figure and a mentor to younger generations of leaders.

He thanked the NEDC chairman for his immense contributions to nation-building and his continued service to humanity.

Tinubu prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Tarfa, wishing him good health, renewed strength, lasting peace and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
