The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged inconsistencies in the academic credentials submitted by President Bola Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Sowore claimed that the certificate Tinubu submitted from Chicago State University ahead of the 2027 presidential election differs from the one he presented in 1999 when he contested and was elected Governor of Lagos State.
He urged Nigerians to reject candidates whose academic qualifications cannot be independently verified, insisting that public office holders should be transparent about their educational records.
Sowore’s comments came after INEC published the credentials and personal details of all presidential candidates contesting the 2027 election.
The allegations have added to ongoing public debate over President Tinubu’s academic records, particularly the absence of his primary and secondary school certificates, which has continued to generate questions about his educational qualifications.
