Retired police officers, their wives and children on Wednesday marched to the National Assembly, demanding an immediate exit from the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
In a video circulating online, the protesters were heard chanting, “President Tinubu, sign our bill,” as they urged the President to address their grievances.
Some of the children who participated in the protest were also seen carrying placards in support of the demand.
The demonstration came a day after military retirees barricaded the entrance to the Military Pensions Board office in Dutse Alhaji, Abuja, over the formula adopted for adjusting their pensions.
The protesting military retirees blocked access to the premises with canopies and chairs, while armed soldiers prevented them from entering the office.
