Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command have dismantled an alleged illegal baby factory syndicate operating in Abaren village, following an intelligence-led operation.
The operation led to the rescue of two heavily pregnant women and four children who were found at the facility.
Six suspects were arrested in connection with the alleged operation. They include Florence Ogbona, Magdalene Julius, Chidike Egwuonwu, Onyechu Chidike, Stephen Ogbona and an attending nurse identified as Oseni Idaya.
The police said the operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of the syndicate.
The rescued victims and suspects have reportedly been taken into police custody as investigations continue to uncover the extent of the alleged baby-selling network and identify other persons who may be involved.
