The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed a viral notice claiming that a special redeployment window has been opened for corps members, describing the information as false.

In a statement shared on its verified X account on Friday, the scheme labelled the notice as fake and cautioned corps members and the public against falling victim to the scam.

The fraudulent message, titled “URGENT NOTICE: NYSC REDEPLOYMENT,” was addressed to parents and guardians, claiming that a redeployment window had been opened due to national security, health, and other concerns.

It urged corps members with “genuine grounds” to apply immediately and provided phone numbers for assistance, while requesting supporting documents for the purported process.

Reacting to the circulating message, the NYSC Headquarters issued a disclaimer on its verified X handle, branding the notice with a bold “FAKE NEWS” watermark and warning Nigerians to disregard it.

The scheme noted that it had not identified those responsible for the fake publication but reiterated that deployment and redeployment processes are conducted only through official NYSC channels.

The NYSC, led by Director-General Olakunle Nafiu, also reminded corps members that it does not authorise agents or phone-based processing for redeployment requests.

It advised prospective applicants and the general public to verify all NYSC-related information through the scheme’s official website and verified social media platforms before taking any action or making payments.
