The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, across its retail outlets.

The new pump price has been adjusted from ₦1,335 to ₦1,299 per litre, representing a ₦36 reduction.

The price cut has already taken effect at several NNPCL filling stations in Abuja, including outlets in Lugbe, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 3, and surrounding areas.

The latest adjustment comes just two days after Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations slashed their petrol price by ₦40, bringing the pump price to ₦1,265 per litre.

The reduction by MRS had increased pressure on other fuel marketers selling petrol at between ₦1,300 and ₦1,310 per litre to review their prices downward in order to remain competitive.
