A Nigerian soldier attached to the Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar in Minna, Niger State, has reportedly been arrested after appearing in military uniform during a TikTok live session where he solicited financial assistance from popular content creator, King Pedro.
According to reports, the soldier was arrested at the 234 Battalion in Badagry, Lagos State, where he was staying, despite being posted to the Army Aviation Hangar in Minna.
Sources familiar with the incident said the arrest followed a viral exchange in which King Pedro criticised the soldier for begging for money while dressed in military uniform, describing the act as disrespectful to the Nigerian Army.
The source also alleged that the TikTok influencer had similarly rebuked another soldier during a separate live session, although it remains unclear whether any action was taken in that case.
In the viral livestream, King Pedro condemned the soldier’s actions, stating that members of the military should not wear official uniforms while seeking financial assistance on social media.
The Nigerian Army has not officially commented on the reported arrest or the disciplinary measures, if any, taken against the soldier.
