Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described the recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference as a “flop”, accusing the association’s leadership of prioritising politics over issues affecting the legal profession.

Speaking during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wike questioned the legacy the current NBA president would leave behind.

He said he had previously explained to the NBA president why he did not support her, particularly over the decision to invite a former governor whom he accused of locking and chaining the courts for almost two years.

Wike questioned the direction of the association, saying the development made him wonder what kind of NBA was being led.

The minister also defended the Federal Government’s performance in Abuja, declaring that all projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu would be completed before the administration leaves office.

He further challenged critics to compare the Tinubu administration’s achievements in the Federal Capital Territory with those of previous governments, insisting that no administration in the history of the FCT had achieved as much as the current government.
