The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Tinubu to exercise caution over the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Ayodele, in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, on Tuesday, said the same-faith ticket could trigger an unexpected religious crisis if not properly managed.
He urged the president and his team to approach the issue with wisdom, noting that some Nigerians were already dissatisfied.
“Let us be cautious against a religious crisis because of this Muslim-Muslim ticket. What I see is trouble if this is not well handled,” Ayodele said.
He added that the issue could extend beyond the presidency to states adopting the same ticket arrangement, warning against actions that could create religious tension across the country.
The cleric also spoke about Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 election, saying the president would face challenges in some states, including parts of the South-West.
According to Ayodele, Tinubu would need to work harder in Lagos, Oyo and Osun, while he also identified Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Niger, Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory as areas requiring attention.
“It may not be easy for the president in these places. He must work very hard and perfect all that is needed,” he added.
