Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has criticised the freezing of the Osun State Government’s account, describing the action as “a joke taken too far.”

Fayose made the remarks in a video shared on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, following reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) froze the state’s account just days before the Osun governorship election.

Reacting to the development, he said:

“EFCC freezing Osun State Government’s account is a joke taken too far.

“Nigerians are sitting down and watching these people bastardising our democracy. They keep doing it because you are quiet.

“They keep doing it because they are sure that whatever they throw at you, you will grab it.”

Questioning the timing of the action, Fayose added:

“How can you freeze a whole state government’s account? Why didn’t you freeze Ekiti State Government’s account last month in June during their own governorship election? Why did you allow Ekiti to buy vote?” he asked.

His comments come amid growing political reactions to the EFCC’s reported action ahead of the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
