Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has released an anthem calling for the reversal of fuel subsidy removal under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Melaye unveiled the song, titled Fuel Subsidy Return, at a political rally in Abuja, where he backed the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2027 election.
In the song, Melaye repeatedly sang the phrase, “It’s coming back again,” which was interpreted as a reference to the possible return of fuel subsidy under an Atiku administration.
Atiku had previously pledged to restore fuel subsidy if elected president in 2027.
Melaye also criticised the removal of the subsidy, arguing that the policy under the Tinubu administration had not benefited Nigeria.
Atiku was ratified as the ADC presidential candidate on May 29, 2026, after emerging victorious in the party’s primary election.
