Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has described himself as the most complete player in the history of football.
The 41-year-old made the declaration during an interview with CNN Portugal, where he compared himself with legendary footballers Lionel Messi, Pelé and Diego Maradona.
Ronaldo acknowledged that football fans have different preferences when choosing the greatest player but insisted that his overall abilities make him the most complete footballer.
“If someone prefers Messi, Pelé or Maradona, that’s a matter of personal taste. I respect that,” Ronaldo said.
“But to say Cristiano Ronaldo is not a complete player is a lie.
“I am the most complete player,” he added.
The Al-Nassr forward is currently 20 goals away from reaching the 1,000-goal milestone in his professional career.
