Charlton Athletic have reached an agreement to sign Super Eagles goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo on loan from Wrexham, DAILY POST reports.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who has one year remaining on his Wrexham contract, is set to become a free agent next summer.
Okonkwo joined Wrexham from Arsenal in September 2023 and quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
However, he lost his starting spot towards the end of last season following the club’s decision to strengthen its goalkeeping department.
Wrexham subsequently signed Anthony Patterson from Sunderland in a club-record deal reportedly worth around £8 million, further pushing Okonkwo down the pecking order.
Charlton Athletic reportedly beat Bolton Wanderers to secure the Nigerian international’s signature.
