Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly awaiting permission to undergo a medical with Arsenal as both clubs move closer to completing his transfer.
Reports indicate that Arsenal and Newcastle United are in the final stages of agreeing a transfer fee for the Brazilian midfielder, bringing weeks of speculation over his future closer to an end.
Guimaraes is said to have informed Newcastle of his desire to join the Gunners during the current transfer window.
Despite initial reluctance to sanction his departure, particularly after the exits of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, Newcastle have reportedly agreed to let the midfielder leave.
Once the transfer is finalised, Guimaraes is expected to link up with Mikel Arteta’s squad for pre-season preparations ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
