The All Progressives Congress (APC) has received several former House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) into its fold.
The party announced the development on its official X handle on Friday.
The defectors were received by APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
According to the party, Yilwatda was accompanied by the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, and the National Woman Leader, Dr Mary Alile-Idele, during the reception.
The statement said the defectors came from Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto states.
It added that the group was led by Princess Asmau Aliyu, while Professor Murtala Yusuf represented the ADC contingent and Mohammed Rabiu led the NDC group from Kaduna State.
