The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for what it described as his transformational leadership and developmental strides across the state, while endorsing him for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Hon. Uche Obute (JP), the APC said Governor Mbah has redefined governance in Enugu State through visionary leadership, bold reforms and people-oriented policies that have accelerated development within just over three years in office.
The party noted that the governor has pursued an ambitious agenda aimed at transforming Enugu from a predominantly civil service-driven economy into a modern industrial, commercial, technological and investment destination.
According to the statement, some of the administration’s landmark achievements include the launch of Enugu Air, which it said has improved regional connectivity, boosted investor confidence and strengthened the state’s profile as a gateway to the South-East.
The APC also highlighted the completion and revitalisation of the Enugu International Conference Centre and the ongoing restoration of the Presidential Hotel, describing the projects as strategic investments expected to promote tourism, attract businesses and stimulate economic growth.
The party further praised the administration’s extensive road construction and urban renewal programme, saying the projects have improved access to rural communities, enhanced agricultural value chains and facilitated commercial activities across the state.
On transportation, the statement cited the construction of modern bus terminals, the introduction of new buses and the 042 Taxi Scheme as initiatives that have modernised public transport and improved commuter safety and efficiency.
The APC also commended the government’s investments in education and healthcare through the establishment of Smart Green Schools and Smart Primary Healthcare Centres across the state’s 260 political wards. It said the projects are designed to expand access to quality education and healthcare while leveraging technology to improve service delivery.
The party equally lauded Governor Mbah’s efforts in strengthening the state’s security architecture through technology-driven surveillance and coordinated security operations, which it said have enhanced public confidence and reinforced Enugu’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s safest states.
According to the APC, the administration has also implemented governance reforms that have improved public service delivery, enhanced fiscal discipline, accelerated project execution and positioned Enugu among Nigeria’s fastest-growing sub-national economies.
The party maintained that Governor Mbah’s achievements have raised the standard of governance in the state and demonstrated that purposeful leadership can deliver measurable results within a relatively short period.
Consequently, the APC announced its endorsement of Governor Mbah for a second term in 2027, saying the decision reflects its confidence in his leadership and its desire to consolidate the developmental gains recorded under his administration.
The party added that continuity would provide the platform for the governor to sustain his long-term vision of building a prosperous, secure and globally competitive Enugu State.
The statement, issued under the leadership of the APC State Chairman, Dr. (Sir) Martin Chukwunweike, congratulated Governor Mbah on what it described as his remarkable milestones and pledged the party’s continued support for his administration.
