Flight operations of Air Peace have been grounded nationwide after members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) reportedly shut down the airline’s terminals.

The disruption affected operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, where an Air Peace flight scheduled to depart at 6:30 a.m. was unable to take off.

The situation was reportedly similar at airports across the country, leaving passengers stranded and flights disrupted.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, confirmed the incident, describing it as a union-related matter.

He said further details would be provided after he arrived at the airport.

Passengers at the Lagos airport took to social media to express frustration over the disruption, with some reporting delays to their scheduled trips.

As of the time of filing the report, Air Peace management had yet to issue an official statement on the development.

It was also unclear whether the disruption had affected the operations of other airlines.
