The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued two abducted persons during a security operation in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of the state.

The operation also resulted in the neutralisation of an armed bandit and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.

The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar.

The police said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to intensify the fight against banditry and protect communities across the state.

The rescued victims have been secured, while security personnel continue operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and recovering illegal weapons in the area.
