The Nigeria Police Force has appealed to officers and men of the Mobile Police Force to support an officer who is currently hospitalised after suffering a serious brain injury in an on-duty accident.
The directive, issued by the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Mobile Police Force, described the appeal as a “Personnel Welfare” matter requiring urgent attention.
Commanding officers were instructed to personally coordinate the fundraising effort and ensure that all donations are remitted through the designated channel.
According to the directive, ASP Oyadele John, with force number AP/No. 154023 and attached to MOPOL 22, Ikeja, was hospitalised at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, following an accident while on special duty in Osun State.
The accident reportedly occurred on July 5, 2026.
The police said medical examinations revealed a serious neurological condition, including bleeding in the brain, which resulted in a partial stroke.
The directive urged officers and men of the force to make voluntary donations to support Oyadele’s medical treatment and recovery.
Police authorities further directed that all contributions be made and properly documented before September 4, 2026, as efforts continue to raise funds for the officer’s treatment.
