Nollywood actor and producer, Kunle Omisore, has claimed that he was once invited to a meeting he described as a witchcraft coven to resolve a dispute involving one of its members.

Omisore made the revelation during an interview on the African A-List Podcast, while discussing the portrayal of witches in Nollywood films.

The actor said he was allegedly summoned after a member accused him of damaging something that belonged to her.

According to Omisore, he attended the meeting to explain his side of the matter, despite saying he did not understand the allegation against him.

“Witches exist. I have gone to a meeting with witches before and came back to the house. Yes, they invited me. I went to settle a dispute,” he said.

He claimed that the woman who reported him alleged that he had offended her and ruined something belonging to her.

Omisore said he told the group’s leader that he had never met the woman and denied damaging anything belonging to her.

He further claimed that he saw several people at the gathering, some of whom were carrying calabashes on their heads.

The actor also questioned the way witches are traditionally portrayed in Nigerian movies, saying his alleged real-life encounter differed significantly from the costumes commonly used in Nollywood.

He said the women he encountered wore traditional iro and buba rather than the face paint and costumes often associated with witch characters in Nigerian films.
