The General Overseer of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over recent remarks about hunger in Nigeria, saying the country should be divided if its leaders have nothing meaningful to offer citizens.
Addressing his congregation, the cleric said the 2027 general election would give Nigerians the opportunity to decide whether the country belongs to its people or to a privileged political class.
Odumeje faulted the President’s comment that hunger existed in Nigeria before he was born, arguing that leaders should show empathy and focus on addressing the country’s challenges rather than making such remarks.
He maintained that those in government are entrusted with managing the nation’s resources for the benefit of all Nigerians, not for personal interests.
The cleric also accused some politicians of prioritising personal and family gains over the welfare of citizens, warning that Nigerians would ultimately determine the country’s political direction in 2027.
He further stated that if the government has no solutions to the country’s problems, then discussions about Nigeria’s continued unity should be considered, adding that citizens deserve leadership that is accountable and responsive to their needs.
