Police officers in Rivers State rescued a man from an angry mob after he was accused of involvement in a suspected one-chance robbery operation.

According to reports, the suspect was apprehended by a group of youths who alleged that he stole a young woman’s mobile phone while they were travelling in a commercial bus.

The crowd reportedly began assaulting the suspect before police officers arrived at the scene, intervened to stop the attack, and took him into custody.

The officers handcuffed the suspect and escorted him away for further investigation into the allegations.

Authorities are expected to carry out a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
