Street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has apologised to organisers, fans and supporters after withdrawing from his celebrity boxing rematch against actor Charles Okocha.
The highly anticipated bout, held on Friday, July 31, ended after the opening round when Portable declined to continue the contest.
In a statement released on Saturday by his management, Zeh Nation/Dr Zeh, the singer expressed regret over the outcome and apologised to the event organisers, Balmoral Group, the event crew, supporters, family members and everyone who attended the fight.
The management acknowledged the disappointment caused by Portable’s decision to leave the ring after the first round but appealed to the public to respect his choice and personal perspective.
Portable was subsequently recorded as losing the rematch to Charles Okocha after abandoning the contest during the opening round.
