The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, has appealed to Nigerian medical professionals to remain in the country, urging them to resist the growing trend of relocating abroad.
Speaking on the need to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare sector, Abayomi said this is not the time for healthcare workers to “japa,” expressing optimism that significant developments are on the horizon.
He encouraged doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to stay and contribute to the transformation of the nation’s health system, adding that “something big is going to happen.”
