The attention of the Obodoeze Ocho Progressive Movement (OOPM), the authentic grassroots movement of ADC Governorship Candidate, Ocho Obodoeze in Enugu North Senatorial Zone, has been drawn to a sponsored publication captioned “Ideke Political Mandate (IPM) Pledges Alliance With NDC Guber Candidate” led by Chief Mathias Omeh.
We wish to state categorically that this so-called pledge is FAKE, SELFISH AND DOES NOT REPRESENT IDEKE POLITICAL MANDATE.
THE TRUTH:
- Ideke Mandate belongs to Nsukka People: Late Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea (Ideke) built IPM as a political family for the protection of Nsukka interest. Ideke never betrayed Nsukka when he was alive. He stood for equity, justice and good governance for Nsukka. Using his revered name to pledge alliance to a candidate outside Nsukka interest for personal gain is a betrayal of everything Ideke stood for.
- Mathias Omeh cannot speak for IPM: IPM is not a one-man business. It is spread across the 6 LGAs of Enugu North with thousands of members. When did IPM hold a meeting to decide to support NDC? Who authorized Mathias Omeh to pledge our mandate? He is looking for political relevance after being exposed by late Ikechukwu Oloto (Okangamo) on how he has been using Okey Ezea’s name for selfish stomach infrastructure.
- Nsukka cannot endorse against itself: How can a true Ideke man leave his own son from Nsukka – Ocho Obodoeze, who is contesting for Governor under ADC and who is from the heart of Nsukka – and go to endorse another candidate? If there is equity, it is Enugu North. If there is loyalty, it is to Nsukka son. The action of Mathias Omeh is sabotage of Nsukka interest.
- OOPM remains focused: We in OPM are busy in Nsukka, verifying our Ward, Polling Booth and LGA Executives to deliver 54% votes for Ocho Obodoeze in Enugu North. We will not be distracted by political merchants who move from one party to another with Ideke’s name in their pocket.
We therefore call on all true members of Ideke Political Mandate across Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Udenu, Isi-Uzo, Nsukka and Igbo-Etiti to disregard this fake alliance and remain committed to the Nsukka project.
Ideke Mandate is for Nsukka, not for sale.
