The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of planning to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 general elections through the deployment of artificial intelligence.

NDC National Publicity Secretary Osa Director asserted that the electoral body intends to utilize AI technologies to favor the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The allegations follow recent statements by INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, who outlined the commission’s strategic integration of AI frameworks for the upcoming polls during a press briefing.

Questioning the timing and operational readiness of the initiative, Director challenged the commission’s capability to manage complex digital architecture given prevailing national security challenges.

In a statement published on X, the NDC spokesman questioned the absence of prior pilot testing, noting, “Not even a test run of the efficiency, or otherwise, of AI tools in off-cycle elections? Why did INEC not test-run AI in the Osun polls?”

“Why the hurry to use AI in the forthcoming general elections, just less than 100 days away? Something is amiss,” Director added.

INEC’S PLAN TO RIG THE 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS WITH AI

INEC is plotting to rig the 2027 general elections in favour of the ruinous APC by deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI). Suddenly, AI has become an attractive tool for the election management body.

For a nation that has not been able to use AI to solve its intractable security challenges, is it the problem of electing public officers that it can now resolve with AI?

Not even a test run of the efficiency, or otherwise, of AI tools in off-cycle elections? Why did INEC not test-run AI in the Osun polls? Why the hurry to use AI in the forthcoming general elections, just less than 100 days away? Something is amiss.

All men and women of good conscience and the international community must rise to checkmate this diabolical plot by INEC.

A New Nigeria is POssible. We can do it!

Osa Director Esq

National Publicity Secretary
